An elaborate Glencoe mansion with rare ornate gardens is seeking $7.5 million when it comes to market, making it the second-priciest listing in the affluent North Shore village.
The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion at 977 Forest Ave. is on a half acre and includes a main home and a guest house with an indoor swimming pool inside a glass-roofed structure, according to Crain’s. It’s been owned since 1993 by Randy and Petra Rissman, according to the Cook County clerk.
Randy Rissman and others founded toy and game company Tiger Electronics in 1978, and he was CEO until it was bought by Hasbro in 1998 for $335 million. Rissman, now CEO of Leo Capital, a venture-capital fund in Northbrook, couldn’t be reached for comment by Cran’s. Susan Maman, the @properties agent representing the sellers, declined to comment.
Details in the listing are limited, and don’t include details of the amenities of the house or its total square footage. The listing is marked as “coming soon” and it’s unclear when or if the property will be placed on the public market.
Should it be listed this summer, it would rank in price only behind a $9.75 million new construction home on Lake Michigan.
