The priciest home sold last month in Dupage County, the second-most populous Illinois county, fetched $4 million, a cool $1 million less than in May, as mortgage rates rose and concern grew that the nation faces a recession. The least expensive of the top five sold for $3 million, though, higher than the $2.25 million that marked the previous month’s cheapest.
The 330-square-mile county is home to 924,000 people, U.S. Census Bureau data show, lagging only Cook County in population, and counts among its towns Hinsdale, Naperville and Oak Brook, DuPage’s most affluent areas. All five top June sales were in Hinsdale, about 20 miles west of Chicago.
The data was collated by Zillow from information provided by Midwest Real Estate Data and doesn’t include off-market deals. Read on for thumbnails of the top five.
