McHenry County, one of Chicago’s outermost suburbs, had three of its priciest homes sell for $1 million or more in June.
The county, whose 603 square miles lie south of the Wisconsin border and west of Lake County, is home to 311,122 people, according to U.S. Census data. Its county seat, Woodstock, where much of the movie “Groundhog Day” was filmed, is about 50 miles from Chicago. Other towns include Crystal Lake, Harvard and McHenry.
The data for the top sales in June was collated by Zillow from information provided by Midwest Real Estate Data and doesn’t include off-market deals. Read on for thumbnails of the top five.
10309 Lawrence Road, $1.25 million
This five-bedroom, seven bathroom home in Harvard closed for $1.25 million on June 13. The 40-acre property includes walking trails, a pond and a two-story outbuilding. Built in 2007, the home includes a wine cellular, sauna and four-car garage. It was listed in May for $925,000 before selling at a 35 percent premium. Sue Perdue of Baird & Warner represented the sellers, and Valerie Walker of Keller Williams Inspire-Geneva represented the buyers.
4009 Pioneer Oaks Drive, $1 million
This five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Ringwood closed for $1 million on June 7. At 7,200 square feet, the home includes a four-car garage, home theater, wine cellar and craft room. The one-acre property includes an outdoor entertainment area with pool and waterslide. Kevin Dombrowski at Homesmart Connect LLC represented both the buyers and sellers.
7716 Crystal Springs Road, $1 million
This seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home in Crystal Lake sold for $1 million on June 21. Built in 1995, the 10,800-square-foot home includes a library, solarium and atrium. The 22-acre property includes basketball and tennis courts. Richard Toepper at Keller Williams Success Realty represented the sellers. The agent representing the buyers wasn’t disclosed.
15 Spring Lane, $995,000
This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Barrington Hills closed for just under $1 million on June 3. The four-acre property includes a five-stall horse barn and custom horse arena. Built in 1989, the home has been recently updated, according to the listing. The home last sold in 2021 for $730,000. 8124 Stickney Run, $930,000
This four-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Bull Valley sold for $930,000 on June 21. Built in 2002, the 6,500-square-foot home is on a three-acre lot. Originally listed in January 2002, it closed at 6.8 percent percent less than its listing price of $998,000. Marybeth Durkin of Redfin represented the sellers and Moe Duric with Baird & Warner represented the buyers.
