A lakefront mansion in Winnetka hit the market at one of priciest asks among active listings in the Chicago area.

The 12,000-square-foot estate at 691 Sheridan Road on Lake Michigan’s shoreline is up for grabs, carrying an asking price of $12.9 million, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Jena Radnay of @properties is the listing agent, extending her streak of snagging high-profile assignments to move North Shore mansions. The sellers aren’t identified in public records, as they bought the property for $5.4 million through an opaque trust in 2016.

The price tag is currently the fourth-highest in the Chicago suburbs. A 6,170-square-foot Winnetka mansion priced just under $15 million holds the top spot, followed by NBA legend Michael Jordan’s 32,000-square-foot mansion in Highland Park asking $14.9 million after more than a decade on the market, and a 9,990-square-foot mansion in Lake Bluff that’s just shy of $13 million.

Despite low housing inventory — which has motivated some buyers to make bids far beyond initial asking prices — ultra high-end homes in Chicagoland often undergo at least one price chop before landing a buyer. A Gold Coast mansion originally listed at $10.2 million recently sold for a little less than two-thirds of that price, for example.

Suburban spreads along the North Shore haven’t been immune to such downward adjustments, and that includes another of Radnay’s listings. In April, the seller of a Glencoe mansion Radnay was hired to market chopped $1 million from its ask after initially seeking $8 million.

The Winnetka mansion, built in 2005 and renovated in 2017, sits on roughly a little less than an acre. It has five bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms and a private deck outside the primary bedroom suite. Lavish features include a bridal staircase with wrought iron balusters, a dome ceiling in the dining room with an Aerin Collection fixture and a butler’s pantry with two wine refrigerators, the outlet said.

There’s also a theater, gym, recreation area, newly-built office and a heated six-car garage. On the exterior there’s a pool, hot tub, viewing patios and a staircase that leads to a 94-foot-wide beach.
