A listing at No. 9 Walton is back on the market this week asking $7 million after a half a million price cut.
The 27th-floor property was previously listed at $7.5 million in March. It was removed this week before being re-listed at $7 million.
The three-bedroom, four-bathroom unit runs 4,400 square feet. The half-floor property has views of both Lake Michigan and the city and includes a 750-square-foot double terrace.
Susie Miner with Premier Relocation and Sophia Worden with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, are representing the listing and didn’t respond to a request for comment.
The 38-story building from JDL Development has attracted celebrities and Chicago’s elite since the developer began selling units in 2017. Ken Griffin, the hedge fund billionaire behind Citadel, bought four unfinished floors at the top of the building for $59 million in 2017, shattering the record for most expensive home sale ever in Chicago. Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward, Blackhawks Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews all purchased condos in the building.
In addition to the usual luxury amenities, the building also features a house car and driver, private wine storage available, a covered dog run and two guest suites available to all homeowners.
The condo is one of seven available in the building right now, and the second-highest priced offering beyond the property’s penthouse. That $12 million listing of a raw, 7,500-square-foot space on the 36th floor is part of Griffin’s Chicago selloff after he announced plans to relocate Citadel to Miami.
Griffin’s 67th-floor penthouse at Park Tower is now the priciest condo on the market in Chicago with an asking price of $15.75 million, and the 7,500-square-foot full-floor penthouse unit on the 65th floor at One Bennett Park in Streeterville is the second highest-priced condo on the market, asking just over $15 million.
Should the $7 million No. 9 Walton listing sell at or near its asking price, it would be the third priciest home sale this year, following only Griffin’s $11.2 million sale at Park Tower and a $10.7 million mansion sale in Lincoln Park.
