Compass is making moves to be more competitive in Chicagoland with the addition of two top agents from @properties Christie’s International Real Estate.

Anne Hodge and Debra Dobbs are joining the New York-based brokerage firm, the company told The Real Deal on Thursday.

Hodge works primarily in the city’s western suburbs, including Hinsdale. Dobbs and her team, which is joining her at Compass, work primarily across the city of Chicago.

“Anne is consistently one of the top agents in all of the western suburbs and Debra is a powerhouse in the city known for unparalleled service and marketing,” Compass’ Fran Broude, a regional leader for the brokerage, said in a statement.

Dobbs has nearly 40 years of experience in the industry and is a well-established name in Chicago real estate. She ranks among the top 1 percent of Chicago realtors, according to Compass and is also a past president of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

“I’ve always enjoyed working with Debra —  the real estate agent and the person,” Thad Wong, co-CEO of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, said in a statement. “She built a nice business at @properties, so we’re sad to see her leave, but we wish her all the best.”

Compass has been in Chicago since 2017, and now has 22 offices across Chicagoland, whereas @properties is the largest brokerage in the region by sales volume.

Dobbs on her website claims she was among @properties’ 2022 Altitude Award earners, which means her team raked in between $20 million and $50 million in total sales volume. Hodge’s Compass profile claims she sold more than $25 million in volume last year.

Hodge has been in real estate for two decades and is one of the top-producing agents in the western suburbs of Chicago, according to Compass. She has a background in structural engineering, sales and technology.

Hodge and Dobbs aren’t the only agents Compass has lured from other Chicago brokerages this year. In January, Meredith Pierson, who was previously affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, joined the company.

Pierson jumped ship to start a new team at Compass with the Glenview-based brokerage team headed by Missy Jerfita. The rebranded Jerfita Pierson Team will have five licensed agents and two support staffers across two Compass offices — in Glenview and Lincoln Park.

Correction: A subhead has been updated to correct the areas in which the brokers work.
