Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices acquires local La Grange firm

Brokerage’s newest addition is a longtime veteran of the real estate industry

Bob Floss Joins Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago is getting a new agent — and his business — in the company’s latest acquisition.

Bob Floss, a longtime fixture of the Chicago residential real estate market, is joining the Irvine, California-based firm. Floss owns Bob Floss & Son Realty, a local real estate firm in La Grange within Chicago’s western suburbs.

The company said in a release that Floss will work out of BHHSC’s Lincoln Park office. Financial terms of the acquisition weren’t immediately provided.

“Bob’s real estate experience truly runs the gamut from exceptional real estate professional to owning his own successful brokerage to creating his own training program that was adopted by the Chicago Association of Realtors to being the past president of the Chicago Association of Realtors and so much more,” Darlene Little, managing broker of BHHSC’s Lincoln Park office, said.

In addition to holding those positions, Floss has taken part in a slew of other committees and involvements at both the local and national levels.

In recent years, he’d been overseeing his property management business, and the move to Berkshire Hathaway marks a return to listing and selling. BHHSC acquired the brokerage portion of Floss’ business, but not his property management business, a sector of the industry the company does not work in.

The acquisition comes as the company has made other moves within Chicagoland. Earlier this year, Samantha Bauman and Raul Delgado opened a new office in Geneva, another western suburb, for BHHSC. They had previously been agents in the brokerage’s nearby Wheaton office, where they became partners in 2021.

And in January, Keith Brand joined BHHSC after six years at Redfin. Like Floss, Brand also joined the company’s Lincoln Park office. He has completed more than $200 million in career sales with more than 360 units since 2018, with more than $100 million sold in 2021 and 2022.
