Another ultra-luxury listing just hit Chicagoland: a North Shore estate asking $18 million.
The 15,800-square-foot home, at 765 Sheridan Road, is asking $1,140 per square foot, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The seven-bedroom mansion, owned by Morris Silverman, sits on 1.3 acres. Silverman acquired the lakefront property in 2003 for $5.78 million, or $366 per square foot. He then invested nearly two years creating a custom-designed home with sweeping views of Lake Michigan and a design that reflects European craftsmanship, said listing agent Sharon Friedman of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate.
“It’s very tasteful, and not overly ornate. It’s a very large house, and yet it is very warm and inviting. It’s a nice combination,” Friedman said.
Built in 2005 by Orren Pickell Builders and Sexton Homes, the mansion features six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms and five fireplaces. Amenities include a Ralph Lauren-inspired library, a Marc Chagall-inspired mosaic ceiling and Tiffany-designed glass doors and windows.
Amenities include three stone terraces, two decks, an outdoor kitchen, a pool and a fire pit, a theater room, a golf simulator and a spa. There are stairs and an electric tram leading to more than 100 feet of sandy beachfront.
Silverman’s estate had a property tax bill of $198,403 for the 2023 tax year.
The listing comes on the heels of a $35 million listing for another seven-bedroom mansion on Lake Michigan, owned by retired investment banker Muneer Satter.

Satter’s mansion set a record for the highest asking price in Winnetka, although it’s still less than the $77.7 million that billionaire Justin Ishbia has spent to build his lakefront estate in the same area.
The next-highest-priced home in Winnetka is a five-bedroom, 12,700-square-foot mansion located farther south on Sheridan Road. The home, originally listed with an asking price of $11.8 million, has been reduced to $10.7 million, or $843 per square foot.
