Batch Freight has inked a deal for a larger headquarters space in Chicago’s River North.
The logistics technology company secured a lease for 20,000 square feet at 214 West Huron Street, nearly doubling its workspace, Crain’s reported. The move will accommodate nearly 200 employees in the two-story building owned by Brandon Cruz and Clinton Jones, co-founders of GoHealth.
Batch Freight will exit 212 West Superior Street, which is owned by prominent River North landlord Urban Innovations.
GoHealth, a healthcare insurance marketplace, had previously consolidated operations into a single office at the Merchandise Mart, leaving its former properties available for lease. CBRE’s Tony Coglianese and Brad Serot negotiated the lease on behalf of Batch, while Madison Rose’s Abby McFadyen represented GoHealth. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The relocation is part of Batch Freight’s expansion, following its acquisitions of Next Trucking and Hickory Transportation Services earlier this year. By expanding its footprint downtown, the company is betting on Chicago’s growing logistics industry, even amid the broader trend of companies reducing office space in favor of remote work. Downtown landlords have felt a lot of pain amid the city’s 25.8 percent vacancy rate.
Batch Freight is not alone in expanding. Firms like Traffic Tech, Loadsmart and Total Quality Logistics have also increased their downtown presence since 2020.

Backed by investors like Sequoia Capital and Brookfield Growth, Batch has emerged as a leader in logistics innovation. The company’s software uses AI to optimize freight logistics and improve efficiency for shipping companies, addressing the growing need for supply chain modernization.
“Chicago’s strategic placement and transit history made it the most prudent option to house our headquarters,” CEO Andrew Sobko said.
