Wine and spirits executive Brett Berish has sold his Glencoe mansion for $6.45 million.
Berish and his wife, Alana, sold their six-bedroom residence at 346 Grove Street for $537 per square foot, or 87 percent of its September 2023 listing price of $7.5 million, Crain’s reported.
The 12,000-square-foot mansion, set on 1.85 acres, boasts high-end amenities such as a pool, theater, indoor basketball half-court and a detached building designed for entertaining and guest accommodations.
Berish bought the property in 2017 for $431 per square foot from Groupon co-founder Eric Lefkofsky and his wife. It’s one of the year’s most prominent sales in the Chicago-area luxury market. The transaction was handled by Margie Brooks of Baird & Warner on behalf of the Berishes, while Dena Fox, also of Baird & Warner, represented the buyer, whose identity wasn’t disclosed.
The sale marks the 93rd home in the Chicago region to sell for $4 million or more this year, a significant increase compared to 73 sales at that price point last year.
Recent luxury home sales in Glencoe include a 9,600-square-foot mansion that sold for $8.2 million, marking it as one of the priciest transactions in the area this year. Another notable sale was the 8,800-square-foot estate at 595 Longwood Avenue, which fetched $7.25 million, a discount from its 2022 listing price of $13.8 million.
Berish is CEO of New York-based Sovereign Brands, which has an office in Highland Park; he and his wife also maintain residences in Manhattan, Long Island and Florida.
