Shows like “Million Dollar Listing” and “Selling Tampa” have captivated viewers with inside looks into luxurious homes in some of the country’s biggest real estate markets. Now, it’s Chicago’s turn.
Chicago area viewers can watch “The Listing” on KMAQ beginning Sunday at 8:30 a.m., according to a news release. It will air every Sunday, immediately following NBC’s 8 a.m. news broadcast.
The show will be hosted and executive produced by Cortney Hall, who was born and raised in Chicago and also hosts the NBC affiliate’s entertainment and lifestyle show, “Chicago Today.”
@Properties agent Carrie McCormick will serve as the show’s resident luxury real estate broker, taking Hall through the high-end listings offered by her clients and other sellers in Chicago, McCormick said. All of the properties featured on the show were for sale at the time of recording, and they span across all sides of the city and into the surrounding suburbs.
“I’ve always been an advocate of our city, so I think our city deserves this, and I think we need to show off to the rest of the world how fabulous our real estate is,” McCormick said.
“The Listing” will also feature some homes just across the border into Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, according to the release. Each episode will feature up to three properties and will have a set theme such as “Skyline Views,” “South Side Mansions,” “Famously-Owned,” “Lakefront Luxury,” “Baller Brownstones” or “Glamourous Getaways.”
The show will focus on Chicago’s architecture and history, as well as design trends in luxury real estate. To do this, the affiliate is teaming up with Chicago Title & Trust and the Chicago Architecture Center, according to the release.
“The architecture here is phenomenal,” McCormick said. “You can go from vintage to modern to our suburbs that feel like a vacation to mansions to Gold Coast to brown stones. We’ve got it all here.”
Hall’s mother worked in luxury real estate and design, which helped inspire her to take on the role hosting “The Listing,” she said.
The program will stream simultaneously each week on NBCChicago.com as well as the network’s 24/7 live streaming channel and YouTube channel. The first episode of “The Listing” is available to watch now on YouTube in advance of the premiere Sunday.
