Cadillac Dealer’s Suburban Chicago Ranch Asks $8.5 Million

A ranch-like Yorkville estate just listed for nearly $8.5 million, with enough garage space for a fleet of cars.

The 10,000-square-foot home nests in the rural outskirts of Chicagoland, about 52 miles southwest of the Loop. The seller is the head of a suburban Cadillac dealership, Frank Laskaris. The brick-and-limestone mansion was built in 1994 and was recently renovated, Crain’s reported. In addition to the eight-car garage attached to the home, at 5021 Minkler Road, a 20-car garage is attached to a six-horse stable. There is also a 3-acre pond, historic barn and a private shooting range on the 36 acre property.

It was listed privately with Michael LaFido of LPT Luxe Group. Laskaris, CEO of Cadillac of Naperville, purchased the property, known as the Minkler Estate, in 2018 for $5.5 million, one of the highest-prices for a home sale that year in Chicagoland.

The listing mentions an infinity pool, pool house and patio area that creates “a resort-like feel,” along with pickleball and basketball courts and a golf chipping range. The renovations aimed to keep an English manor style and charm, including barn wood ceilings and stone fireplaces, along with a chef’s kitchen with marble countertops. There is a 2,000-square-foot detached casita suitable for guests or house staff.

LaFido’s listing does not provide square footage. Prior listings set the total square footage of the home at 13,740 square feet with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, but it isn’t clear if that includes the guest house. That square-footage would put the asking price at about $618 per square foot.

The agent has notched several high-end suburban deals recently, with the sale of the Barrington Hills estate where the TV show “Empire” was filmed for $6.5 million in April, and the $7.5 million sale of a Naperville mansion last year. LaFido was also the listing agent for a French Provincial-style mansion in Wheaton that sold for $3.6 million in 2024.
