The Vogel Group joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, the brokerage said Tuesday.
Led by Karl Vogel, the two-person team consists of Vogel and Kevin Blair, BHHS Chicago said in a press release. The pair are joining the brokerage’s Evanston office. Vogel and Blair were previously at @properties.
The move comes as major Chicago brokerages jockey for talent amid a shakeup in the real estate industry. Compass’ acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate has brought many of Chicago’s top brokerages under its ownership and forced legacy brokerages like BHHS Chicago to hone their pitch to agents.
Vogel founded the group in 2009, according to the release. He specializes in vintage and historic properties in Andersonville and Evanston.
Vogel also sells properties across Chicago’s North Side, including in Edgewater, Lincoln Square and Ravenswood, according to the release. Additionally, he owns and manages two-flat and three-flat properties in Andersonville, giving him experience in rental markets.
He previously worked at Water Tower Realty Property Management and in Baird & Warner’s corporate marketing department, BHHS Chicago said. His LinkedIn profile also lists experience at Coldwell Banker.
Blair brings experience from a 13-year real estate career involving working with first-time buyers, sellers, renters and investors in the city and surrounding suburbs.
Vogel and Blair closed nearly $25 million in transaction volume in 2025, BHHS Chicago said in the release. Vogel and Blair did not respond to a request for comment.
BHHS Chicago has more than 1,000 agents in Chicagoland and nearby regions in Indiana and Michigan, the release said.
The move comes after some prominent agents left BHHS Chicago for rival agencies in recent months.
Steve Jasinski, who leads a team in La Grange, moved from Berkshire to Baird & Warner in December, The Real Deal previously reported. And Rory Mone joined Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty from BHHS Chicago earlier this year.
Among other recent brokerage moves, @properties Christie’s International Real Estate tapped Jim Barcelona to be executive vice president of brokerage services at the Chicago-based firm, following the retirement of Thomas Downing.
