A massive lakefront estate in the Lake Geneva area sold for $14.3 million, marking another top-tier closing for the popular Wisconsin getaway.
The 10,960-square-foot home at 389 North Lakeshore Drive in Fontana, Wisconsin traded on Friday in an off-market sale, according to listing services. The price makes it the most expensive home to sell on Geneva Lake since last June, when a 5-acre estate in Lake Geneva sold for $20 million.
Geneva Lakefront Realty agent David Curry represented both the buyer and the seller. The home was not listed publicly, but the sale was entered into listing websites Monday morning. Curry did not respond to a request for comment, but he described the sale in a blog post on Saturday.
“A perfect location and a perfect house,” he wrote of the sale. “An intelligent and loyal seller. A motivated and excited buyer. Beyond that, for what more could I ask?”
The house features seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and at least 100 feet of lake frontage, according to the listing. Built in 2013 on a 2.4-acre lot, the Cape Cod-style home includes a boathouse, a large detached garage, gardens and an exposed basement, according to listing details. No photos of the interior are included in the listing.
The final sale price is slightly below the last asking price of $15 million, according to Curry’s blog post. The sale represents a huge jump in value for the home, which listing services show last traded for $7 million in 2019. Before that, it sold for $5.1 million in 2015.
The home was sold by a trust that obscures the owner’s identity, according to Walworth County Property records. The buyer is not yet identified in public records. The owner paid just over $84,000 in property taxes in 2025, records show.
The transaction, the first lakefront home on Geneva Lake to sell this year, highlights the continuing surge of the luxury market on the Geneva Lake lakefront, following a busy 2025. The Wisconsin resort town, about a 90-minute drive from downtown Chicago, is a popular second home getaway for wealthy Chicago residents.
At least 13 lakefront homes sold in 2025, according to listing services, all garnering at least a $7 million sale price.
Only one lakefront home is listed above $5 million on Geneva Lake currently, but other off-market deals may be in the works. The listing is a $9 million spec home that went on the market in September, first asking $10 million. The 7,800-square-foot house has eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
