A Highland Park lakefront house traded for the highest dollar amount for the suburb since Chicago Bulls basketball legend Michael Jordan sold his home for $9.5 million.
Jerry and Naomi Senser sold their home at 55 South Deere Park Drive for $6.5 million, according to Crain’s. The home spans 9,750 square feet, and was listed for around $898 per square foot. It sold for about $667 per square foot. The house comes with a private beach, boathouse and deck.
The Sensers bought the property in 2006 for $6.5 million. In total, the property spans 1.18 acres, and the house portion has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and three half-bathrooms, according to listing information when it was put up for sale.
Restoration work was done on the beach and bluff in 2009 and in 2015. A retaining wall was placed to defend the shoreline from erosion, along with renovations to the deck and the boathouse. The specific amount the Sensers spent on the renovations is unknown.
Stephanie Hofman of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate told The Real Deal in 2025 that “there are many homes out there that might have lake views or might have some sort of lake access but don’t have the reinforcement of the property that really makes it usable and functional.”
The buyers of the home were not identified, according to Crain’s. The property went up for sale at $8.75 million and closed at 74 percent of the asking price, according to the outlet.
55 South Deere Park Drive was on the market for just around a year, compared to Jordan’s mansion. Originally listed over a decade ago, it took 12 years for the home of the Bulls legend to be sold in 2024. Jordan’s mansion was purchased with the intent of turning the home into a personal-growth Mecca called “Champion’s Point.”
