A North Shore luxury home, located two blocks from Glencoe Beach, is hitting the market with a $6.95 million price tag, nearing record pricing for a non-lakefront home in the northern Chicago suburb.
The three-story single-family home located at 677 Sheridan Road in Glencoe was constructed in 2019. It has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with 10,000 square feet of living space, according to Zillow. The price equates to $695 per square foot.
The priciest residential deal recorded last year for a standard off-lakefront home in Glencoe was the $7.3 million sale of a spec mansion at 219 Lincoln Drive, which stayed on the market for nearly two years.
Mona Hellinga of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, representing the Sheridan Road seller, declined to divulge details other than to say that the price reflects the quality of construction, design and amenities.
The ownership of the house can be traced to a couple — Louis and Gloria Cairo — who acquired the property for $3.7 million in March 2020 from Heritage Luxury Homes’ Leo Birov, according to public records. The property’s estimated market value was pegged at $4.33 million in 2026 by the Cook County assessor’s office. The office had recorded a spike in property assessment values along the 6-mile stretch of Sheridan Road from Wilmette to Glencoe last year, which prompted speculative pricing allegations.
It is not immediately clear why the Cairos are offloading the property. Louis Cairo is a Chicago native and a managing partner at GWC Injury Lawyers. The Loyola University law graduate sold another home in the South Barrington suburb in 2016 for $2.7 million, according to public records and Zillow.
The Sheridan Road home is also located near former Fairlife CEO Tim Doelman’s $7 million lakefront mansion, which in April 2025 was the most expensive suburban Chicago home sale that year up to that point.
