Bill de Blasio is the 109th mayor of New York City. He was born on May 8, 1961, in Manhattan, and received a bachelor’s degree from NYU and a master’s degree from Columbia University. De Blasio took office on January 1, 2014. Prior to serving as mayor, he was a Public Advocate and member of the New York City Council from the 39th District.
