An Australian entrepreneur has put her mansion back on the market, banking attracting a more than AU$60 million ($38.9 million) offer.
Alexandra Jakob, founder of haircare brand BondiBoost and executive producer of the “Memory Bites with Matt Moran” show, has relisted her Point Piper mansion in the search for a deep-pocketed buyer, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The latest listing comes after Jakob previously listed the five-bedroom, six-bathroom harborfront manse last year at a target of AU$100 million ($64.8 million). An offer of AU$60 million by a high-net-worth family in the area was rejected, leading Jakob to officially list the property for purchase with a comprehensive marketing campaign, Robert Klaric of The Property Expert, the seller’s advocate, told the Morning Herald.
Prior to the sale, the home was known as being one of three in a row bought by Jakob and her ex-husband Gabriel Jakob in 2022 for nearly AU$100 million ($64.8 million) with plans to build the most expensive home in Australia on the three-property site. Their separation the following year and divorce last year put an end to those plans. Wolseley Road, where the property is located, has previously been home to prime ministers, real estate players and high-profile businessmen.
Alexandra Jakob purchased the home hitting the market in 2019 for AU$40 million ($26 million) from former Morgan Stanley Australia executive Steve Harker. The haircare founder said she’s downsizing her living situation with plans to travel. Before breaking into the personal care world, Jakob was a childcare entrepreneur, having founded the Little Learning School chain in 2006 before it sold to Bain Capital in 2018 in a deal worth a reported $150 million.
A buyer would enjoy a three-level property with a private boat ramp and a poolside pavilion on the edge of Sydney Harbor. The home comes complete with a wet bar, cellar, steam room, indoor spa and multiple terraces. The 19,288-square-foot property has panoramic views of Sydney’s Harbor Bridge and famous Opera House.
The record home sale price in Point Piper was set by tech billionaire and Atlassian founder Scott Farquhar, who spent $130 million for Uig Lodge in 2022. He sold his Elaine estate in the enclave for $130 million last year.
Jakob’s agents are accepting expressions of interest in her home until Nov. 26.
