Real estate finance startup Cadre, which lets institutions invest in commercial real estate online, hired former Starwood Capital Group executive Marcos Alvarado as its new head of acquisitions.

Ginger Brokaw, a top agent at Town Residential who held many of the brokerage’s priciest listings, is moving to Brown Harris Stevens.

Madison Realty Capital, the private equity firm, has hired Jay Heydt and Andrew Salomon. Heydt, who was previously at Citi Habitats, has joined as managing director of leasing. Salomon, who was vice president of development and construction at Jamestown Properties, comes on as managing director in charge of commercial development.

Gavin Middleton joined Lehrer, the construction consultancy, as partner and COO. He was previously at Starwood Capital Group.

Halstead Property has promoted Robyn Kammerer to executive director of sales for Darien and Rowayton, in Connecticut. She was previously executive director of communications.

Neda Barzideh Levy has joined Douglaston Development as chief administrative officer. She was previously the vice president and general counsel at Tahl Propp Equities.

Law firm Orrick has hired Marshall Brozost. He joins the firm as a partner in the New York office, where he will run the local real estate practice. Brozost was previously at Schulte Roth & Zabel.

Michael Busch has joined Georgetown Company, the developer and landlord, as general counsel. He comes to the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Architecture firm Perkins+Will has promoted Meena Krenek to interior design director.

Fred Smith has joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank as vice chairman in the New York office. Smith spent 31 years at Cushman & Wakefield.

Jane Orlin has joined Cushman & Wakefield as senior managing director in the business incentives practice. She comes from ADP, where she was a senior director in the firm’s tax credit practice.

Compass has hired Danielle Lurie. She was previously at the Corcoran Group, where she was named 2015 Rookie of the Year.

The Corcoran Group has hired Mike Fabbri, who was a senior manager at Compass, assisting with  agent branding strategy and retention. It also hired Charlie Lewis from Warburg Realty.
