Serhant fiancée dives into real estate

For “Million Dollar Listing New York” star Ryan Serhant, real estate is becoming a family business.

Serhant’s fiancée, Emilia Bechrakis, a Greek attorney for a container shipping company, has jumped into the real estate game, taking a new job as a senior sales representative for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, she told The Real Deal.

“I’ve flirted with the idea of going into real estate for a while,” she said. “I go to every dinner and every real estate event with Ryan and it’s become a part of my life. No one wanted to talk about maritime law anyway.”

Bechrakis even plans to bring a little Bravo excitement to the notoriously stuffy title business, since camera crews for Serhant’s hit show will likely follow her to work on occasion.

“I hope that we’ll bring a little sexy to the title world,” she said. Bechrakis certainly has the credentials for the gig. She has three law degrees, from the University of Kent, University College London and BPP Law School, and spent two years in the legal department at Mediterranean Shipping Company, the world’s second-largest shipping line.

Her father also used to be a developer of residential buildings in Greece. “She’s the smartest person I know,” Serhant said. “She’s been more influential on the growth of my business than anyone. If she can handle the highest legal position at the largest global container line, she can handle this.”

As for mixing business with pleasure, the couple said they actually won’t draw a line between the two, adding that they are already working on several deals together. “We will be the James and Jane Bond of real estate,” Serhant quipped.
