Stonehenge’s Yardeni sings a different tune on co-living

Firm is partnering with two-year-old LiveWith

In February 2017, Stonehenge Partners’ CEO, Ofer Yardeni, told a boisterous crowd at a panel on the city’s rental market: “If you are a 35-year-old and you live in [WeLive or Common], you are a loser.”

The jab at the burgeoning co-living sector became instant media fodder.

Now, though, Yardeni’s firm is among the first to partner with a two-year-old co-living app modeled after Tinder. Named LiveWith, the app lets users swipe through potential roommates to find “an incredible co-living relationship,” its CEO, Steven Abd El Hamid, told The Real Deal.

Once matched, users can review listings of more than 100,000 rental apartments made available through LiveWith’s owner-partners and set up viewings. Abd El Hamid, who plans to enter a Series A funding round in the coming months, said the goal is to create an end-to-end leasing service and that other clients include Stuyvesant Town and Sam Zell’s Equity Residential.

He also said that landing Stonehenge as a partner is “a testament to us,” but wouldn’t elaborate on how he converted Yardeni or go into the details of their contract. Yardeni did not respond to a request for comment.
