San Pedro’s Ports O’Call is slated to undergo a massive $100 million makeover at the hands of the L.A.-based Ratkovich Co. and its partner Jerico Development, according to the L.A. Times.

Ratkovich said it plans to ink a long-term lease for the 30-acre property within the next two to three months and hopes to replace the aging faux fishing village’s old buildings with new shops and entertainment destinations, including restaurants, an amphitheater and marketplace.

“We have the opportunity to do something special along the waterfront, just as it’s been done in a lot of other cities,” said Wayne Ratkovich.

The project, named San Pedro Public Market, is slated to open in 2020. [LAT]Katherine Clarke
