A house with interiors by Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz of Mondrian Hotel fame has the highest listing price ever seen for a single-family home along the Venice Canals, The Real Deal has learned.

The three-bedroom home at 2335 Eastern Canal was just listed for $5.5 million, breaking the previous record sale price of $4.9 million along the canals. The former title holder, at 229 Linnie Canal, ended up selling at a discount to the listing price, for $4.5 million.

The house at 2335 Eastern Canal was renovated by David Hertz. It has skylights, a hot tub, two balconies with canal views, a rooftop deck and a sauna. Kerry Ann Sullivan and Tami Halton Pardee of Halton Pardee + Partners are the listing agents.

The seller, a family trust, will make a hefty profit if it sells at listing price. It purchased the property in 2011 for just under $2.8 million, according to records.
