Updated, Friday, July 15th, 1:25 p.m.: Compass has yet another notch in its poaching belt, The Real Deal has learned. After hiring Kofi Nartey from the Agency last week, it has recruited another player from the firm.
Hana Cha, the managing director of the Agency’s new development division, has joined Compass as a managing director. She had been on board at the Agency since the company’s inception, and posted a photo on Instagram last week of her goodbye party.
“I’m blessed to have been a part of everything we’ve overcome, achieved and conquered…it’s time to write my next chapter,” she said in her post.
Cha oversaw more than $500 million in new development deals, according to the Agency’s website. She was responsible for onsite sales of the Ritz-Carlton Residences at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles.
“I am an entrepreneur at heart and joining Compass – which has really exploded onto the scene in Los Angeles – is an exciting next step for me,” Cha said in an emailed statement.
She will be joining Compass’ Beverly Hills office.
Correction: Due to information on the Agency’s website, a previous version of the story stated that Cha was responsible for bringing AEG to the firm as a client. Laura Cordovano was responsible for bringing the developer to the firm, while Cha was involved with sales.
