A tight construction finance market could provide opportunities for Chinese investors

While developers in the states are eager for financial institutions to loosen up and lend more, the tight construction finance market could provide a unique opportunity for Chinese investors.

According to Kuafu Properties CEO Shang Dai, the current climate offers Chinese investors a chance to “not only follow the market, but lead the market,” by, for example, becoming mezzanine lenders on projects.

Prior to his appearance on the “Opportunities for Development” panel, Dai swung by for a chat with managing web editor Hiten Samtani at The Real Deal‘s second annual Showcase and Forum in Shanghai. Check out a full recap of the event here.
