Rick Caruso becomes first major advertiser with Snapchat geofilter

Every selfie snap at the Grove would bear the Caruso name for one year

Rick Caruso is sure keeping up with Gen Z.

The shopping mall developer is the first major advertiser to purchase a year-long Snapchat geofilter, the Los Angeles Times reported. Geofilters are overlays for snaps taken at a particular location, like a digital sticker.

This means that any visitor to the Grove or the Americana at Brand can find the Caruso-branded geofilter when they Snap photos on the social media app.

Earlier this month, the retail developer told TMZ that he will lift his ban on President-elect Donald Trump at the Grove. Now, the soon-to-be commander-in-chief can celebrate with a Caruso-geotagged selfie. [LAT]Cathaleen Chen
