Los Angeles real estate firm Redcar Properties wants to build a 203-unit mixed-used complex in Chinatown, according to city filings.
The developer is planning a 102-foot structure comprising more than 21,000 square feet of retail space as well as apartments on the site, at 643 North Spring Street, Urbanize reported.
Redcar, which is based on Spring Street, purchased the site for $14.75 million in early 2016, according to CoStar. The parcel, which spans a little over an acre, is currently occupied by several low-level retail structures. Redcar’s plans also call for parking for 212 cars and 203 bicycles.
Another of the firm’s projects, a 26-unit live-work loft complex known as the Highland Hotel, is under construction on Figueroa Street near Highland Park. [Urbanize] — Cathaleen Chen
