Redcar, which is based on Spring Street, purchased the site for $14.75 million in early 2016, according to CoStar. The parcel, which spans a little over an acre, is currently occupied by several low-level retail structures. Redcar’s plans also call for parking for 212 cars and 203 bicycles.

Another of the firm’s projects, a 26-unit live-work loft complex known as the Highland Hotel, is under construction on Figueroa Street near Highland Park. [Urbanize]Cathaleen Chen
