David Geffen broke a record when he sold his Carbon Beach estate for $85 million earlier this month, but he’ll be lucky to just break even with his latest listing.

The billionaire entertainment mogul has put another Carbon Beach home on the market asking $8.9 million, $1 million less than the $9.8 million he paid for it in 2008, records show.

The 1,473-square-foot contemporary cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with 45-feet of beach frontage, Variety reported.

Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency and James Rapf of Pritchett-Rapf & Associates share the listing.

Geffen still owns several properties in Los Angeles, including the Jack Warner estate in Beverly Hills, which he purchased in 1990 for an estimated $47.5 million.

Last year, he dished out $70 million for a more than two-acre oceanfront estate in East Hampton. [Variety]Subrina Hudson
