A Los Angeles home linked to Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has come on the market for $12 million, The Real Deal has learned.
A trust tied to Mnuchin, who is a consigliere of President Trump, bought the Beverly Hills home for $8.9 million in 2014, records show. The former OneWest Bank chairman divulged his stake in the trust in White House financial disclosure forms in January.
Edward Fitz of the Agency has the listing. He was not immediately available for comment.
The property does not appear to be Mnuchin’s main residence. He also owns a property at 969 Bel Air Road, which he bought for $26.5 million in 2009 from Benjamin Nazarian, a member of the billionaire Nazarian family. That property was besieged by protesters in January amid opposition to Mnuchin’s appointment as Treasury Secretary.
He and his ex-wife Heather Mnuchin divorced in 2014, so one of the properties may also serve as her residence. Mnuchin is now engaged to actress Louise Linton.
The Beverly Hills home, at 517 N. Beverly Drive, has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, spanning a total 9,957 square feet. It has a double gated circular driveway, arched French doors, a pool, a wine cellar, a screening room and a music room, according to the listing.
Meanwhile, Mnuchin called on lawmakers this week to raise the debt ceiling, saying the federal government will only have enough cash flow to pay its bills through early September.
