The Skid Row Housing Trust is planning another affordable housing complex in DTLA, city documents show.

The nonprofit developer filed plans Tuesday to build an 81-unit residential complex at 655 S. San Pedro Street at the edge of Skid Row. It would span 46,500 square feet and contain seven stories.

The site is occupied by a single-story warehouse. Next door at 647 S. San Pedro Street, the Housing Trust already operates a 19-unit complex for special needs housing.

About 58,000 people are homeless in Los Angeles County this year, according to the latest report from the L.A. Homeless Services Authority. Last November, L.A. voters approved Proposition HHH, which established a $1.2 billion bond measure that would build accommodations for the homeless. Measure H, which passed in March, will funnel hundreds of millions more toward services for the homeless population. It is not yet known whether the proposed project would use these funds.

Skid Row Housing Trust now has over 500 units of supportive housing in predevelopment, CEO Mike Alvidrez announced earlier this month.

In January, the Housing Trust filed plans for a 14-story, 151-unit affordable housing complex at 609-623 East 5th Street.
