West Hollywood City Manager Paul Arevalo confirmed that CIM Group’s Sunset | LaCienega hotel project will be branded as a 1 Hotel, rather than as a James Hotel.

The Real Deal reported in April that Barry Sternlicht’s Starwood Capital was acquiring the hotel and planned to convert it into a 1. Starwood closed on the property for $280 million, or $945,946 a key, earlier this month.

CIM partnered with Denihan Hospitality Group to build the property, which was the first new ground-up hotel in West Hollywood in three decades, in 2013.

The 286-room hotel consists of two 10-story towers and contains 15,000 square feet of retail space.  Sunset | LaCienega also has a multifamily component with 190 units and 55,000 additional square feet for retail. [Wehoville]Cathaleen Chen
