John Aaroe Group has opened its tenth Los Angeles area office in Calabasas.

The brokerage took over the 7,000-square-foot space at 23647 Calabasas Road from Ewing & Associates, a division of Sotheby’s International Realty. A spokesperson for Ewing was not immediately available for comment and it wasn’t clear if the company has relocated to another space.

Aaroe already has locations in Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks and the Sunset Strip. Its expansion efforts come on the heels of its merger with Pacific Union in December 2016. At the time of the merger, the firms had a combined 1,100 agents working in 38 offices across California.

A spokesperson for Aaroe said it is currently interviewing agents for the office and has not yet formally tapped a manager.

The building sits immediately adjacent to Caruso Affiliated’s shopping, dining and entertainment complex the Commons, in the central hub of a city that has only recently become a hub of luxury residential sales. Calabasas was put on the map in part by celebrities such as the Kardashian family, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, all of whom have called it home.

Several of Ewing’s top brokers, including the Kardashians’ agent Tomer Fridman, recently left the company to join venture capital-backed brokerage Compass. Compass also hired Dana Olmes and Jeff Biebuyck, who represented “Dances with Wolves” producer James Wilson in the $14.9 million sale of his Calabasas compound, which remains the priciest sale ever in the area.
