“Ocean views for each horse”: Kiehl’s heiress lists 25-acre equestrian ranch in Malibu for $55M

Third generation Kiehl’s heiress and skincare guru Jami Morse Heidegger is moving her herd.

Heidegger and her husband, Klaus, a former Austrian alpine skier, listed Palms of Malibu — their 25-acre equestrian ranch — last week for $55 million. 

The private compound has a two-story main house and a detached three-bedroom guest house. Square footage was not disclosed.

The site has a newly built nine stall barn with “ocean views for each horse,” according to its listing. It also has a computerized riding ring with turf; fruit and avocado orchards; and riding and hiking trails that lead directly from the property. The main house is surrounded by a koi pond, pool and tennis court. 

The couple purchased the property in 2002 for $2.6 million, according to property records. They own several show horses.

In 2000, when Heidegger was president of Kiehl’s — the company which her grandfather acquired in 1921 — she sold the family business to cosmetics giant L’Oréal for an estimated $100 to $150 million, according to the New York Times. She stayed on as president for three years after the sale.

The Heideggers launched Retrouvé, their own line of luxury skincare products, in 2014. Some of the line’s ingredients, such as vitamin C and avocado oil, are sourced from their Malibu farm, according to C Magazine.
