HGA Architects and Engineers has poached Robert Cull from HOK, where he served as a senior vice president and managing principal. He is now the associate vice president and healthcare group leader in HGA’s Santa Monica office, where he will direct new business opportunities, client relations and team processes for the healthcare group.

Affordable housing developer Meta Housing Corporation promoted Aaron Mandel and Chris Maffris to executive vice president roles. The Sawtelle-based firm said Mandel, who’s been with the company for over 13 years, will provide strategic direction and management to Meta’s development division. Maffris, who joined the firm in 2003, will focus on urban infill and revitalization projects while overseeing the development team.

Commercial real estate investment banking firm George Smith Partners has expanded its operation in Century City. The firm hired Allison Weiss as vice president and director of platform development and Dana Light as vice president of research and marketing. Weiss’s newly-formed role will include recruiting and brand development. She previously worked as a national recruiting manager for Marcus & Millichap. Light, who previously served development and marketing roles with Arixa Capital Management, will focus on lender research.
