Ennabe Properties has beefed up its plans for a property on Western Avenue in Koreatown.

The Koreatown-based developer filed plans on Wednesday with the city for a 73-unit project at 401 S. Western Avenue, three years after filing for a 57-unit project there. The six-story project would also include around 6,500-square-feet of ground floor retail space.

The additional units are requested via the Transit Oriented Communities program, a city program that provides density and unit bonuses to developers who incorporate affordable housing into projects near transit.

The site is about a quarter mile from the Metro Purple Line’s Wilshire/Western station and the commercial hub stretching along Wilshire Boulevard.

Ennabe purchased the property in September 2014 and demolished a car wash there by the end of that year.

Jamison has been active in the immediate area this year. The Koreatown firm filed for a 226-unit project at 636 S. St. Andrews Place and revised its plans for 800 S. Western Avenue to include more apartments instead of a hotel.
