Jamison has been one of Koreatown’s most active office and multifamily landlords and developers, but its latest move points in a new direction.
Jamison filed plans to develop a seven-story hotel at 679-687 S. Harvard Boulevard, property records show. The new development would rise on what is now a parking lot next to the family firm’s recently completed 209-unit Luna on Wilshire apartment complex.
Last fall, Jamison acquired the S. Harvard Boulevard site from Kwang Kyu Pak, who had secured city approval for a hotel development. Jamison paid $5.3 million for the development site.
Pak had received approval for 110 rooms and an 1,840-square-foot restaurant on the ground floor. Jamison’s filing made no mention of commercial space, but said it wanted to include a gym and rooftop deck. Jamison refused to comment.
Jamison is Koreatown’s most active developer and has a handful of projects underway along Wilshire Boulevard alone.
