Creator of ‘CSI’ puts a twist on his Malibu listing, upping the asking price
Anthony Zuiker now wants $10M for the 5,500K sf home
Usually, a prospective seller will discount their home if it sits on the market for a year. Not television producer Anthony Zuiker.
The creator of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” is putting his Malibu estate back on the market, asking half a million dollars more than he listed it for last year. Zuiker now wants $10 million for the 5,500-square-foot home, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The five-bedroom, five-bathroom contemporary, clad in concrete, has a deck wrapping around much of the first floor. It sits on 1.4 acres, including a large landscaped backyard with a saltwater pool and lounge space. There’s also a rooftop deck and a tennis court.
Zuiker bought the home in 2012 for $7.5 million. Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker has the listing.
Malibu regularly sees some of the priciest home sales in L.A. County. Colony Beach was the most expensive place to buy a home in the county last year for the second year in a row.
Malibu saw the most expensive sale ever recorded in the county last year when a couple from Texas paid $110 million for the beachfront home of Peter Morton.
Still, discounts aren’t rare. A cliffside home first listed for $58 million got a 40 percent haircut last month. Actor Mel Gibson chopped $3 million off the asking price on a home in the canyons in March, bringing it to $15 million. [LAT] – Dennis Lynch
