JLL has boosted its multifamily team in Los Angeles, hiring Blake Rogers from Walker & Dunlop, The Real Deal has learned.

Rogers, who handles multifamily investment sales, will work out of JLL’s Century City office, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Neither Rogers nor JLL returned a request for comment.

The move marks Rogers’ second stint at JLL — he previously worked there after the brokerage acquired HFF in 2019. Rogers then left the firm for Walker & Dunlop, a brokerage headquartered in Maryland.

He still has listings with Walker & Dunlop, according to the brokerage’s website.

Rogers was tasked with growing the Walker & Dunlop’s West Coast presence and was a boon for the brokerage. Last year, he brokered the nearly $150 million sale of eight fully entitled sites in Santa Monica to Tishman Speyer, where the firm plans to build 620 units.

JLL’s L.A. operations have seen a shake-up over the last couple of weeks. Earlier this month, the firm’s capital markets’ co-head, Bill Fishel, left for Newmark.

Multifamily investment sales, like other commercial asset classes, have dipped over the last year, as interest rates have soared.

JLL’s multifamily division in L.A. is already prominent — last year, the firm brokered the sale of the Thea at Metropolis, a 59-story apartment tower that sold for a record $504 million, or about $736,000 per unit.
