A Los Angeles real estate maven has bought a newly remodeled Malibu home on Broad Beach for $35 million.
Miriam Schaeffer, who owns 11 multi-million-dollar homes from Hidden Hills to Beverly Hills, bought the 4,300-square-foot property at 31048 Broad Beach Road, Dirt.com reported.
The off-market sellers were TV producer Oren Koules and his wife, Shereen Arazm Koules.
The producer of “Two and a Half Men” and his wife, a former “Top Chef Canada” judge, bought the third-acre beachfront estate in 2018 for $7.8 million, according to public records.
The couple then hired Steven Kent Architects, based in Malibu, to transform the 1970s compound with a main house and a separate guest house over a two-car garage.
The result is “as magazine-ready as any of the posh neighboring properties,” according to Dirt.
Schaeffer, ex-wife of OPI nail polish founder George Schaeffer and a former executive of the firm, owns three other Malibu estates, according to Dirt.
The gray-trimmed house, with its eaveless gabled roof, has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the Pacific Ocean, with 40 feet of beachside frontage.
Inside, broad-beamed ceilings hover above blond hardwood floors, with the living room stretching into a kitchen with a long island next to a formal dining area.
There’s an in-ground hot tub on the beachside patio, plus an upstairs master bedroom with a fireplace and glass-walled balcony. An atrium lights up a floating staircase.
Shereen Arazm Koules planned and executed the interior design.
“A new glass-walled guest house wrapped with horizontal wood louvers is perched above a board formed concrete garage at the street,” according to a description by Steven Kent Architects.
Broker Cooper Mount of Carolwood Estates held the listing, while broker Jacob Dadon of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
The Koules bought a smaller home on Broad Beach nearby for $14 million. Years ago, they owned a nearly century-old, Mediterranean-style mansion in Hancock Park, later sold to Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.
