Vitruvian Development Group wants to build a 27-unit apartment complex in Hollywood.
The locally based developer filed plans to build the six-story complex at 6721-6727 West Melrose Avenue, between La Brea and Highland Avenues, Urbanize Los Angeles reported. It would replace a vacant commercial building.
Plans call for a complex with 27 one- and two-bedroom apartments with 500 square feet of ground-floor shops and a partially underground parking garage for 22 cars.
The developer seeks density bonus incentives allowing a larger building than allowed by local zoning rules in exchange for three apartments to be set aside as affordable housing for very low-income households.
The gray complex, designed by Mid-City based Tighe Architecture, would include a contemporary podium-type building with a curved corner, a scalloped facade with interior balconies, and a rooftop deck, according to renderings.
A similar complex is planned a few blocks to the east at the southwest corner of Melrose and La Brea Avenue, while a 33-unit mixed-use building opened a short distance to the east at Highland in 2022, according to Urbanize.
Vitruvian’s other upcoming projects include a 40-unit apartment building under construction in West Hollywood.
