The number of signed contracts for luxury houses remains robust in Los Angeles County, with a Pacific Palisades home leading the way last week.
The home at 500 Toyopa Drive with a nearly $13 million ask topped the county’s list of signed contracts, according to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report LA. The weekly roundup counts contracts for homes listed at more than $4 million on the MLS.
Property records show the Palisades home is for sale by Bryan Biniak and his wife Song Oh.
The couple bought the home in 2013 for $4.5 million. They placed it on the market last October for $13.8 million, according to Zillow.
The Agency’s Marco Rufo and Compass’ Jennifer Portnoy have the listing.
A 20-foot waterfall, koi pond, wraparound glass and woodwork throughout the home are some of its more head-turning features. It sits on about a half-acre lot with six beds and nine baths. The home totals nearly 8,700 square feet.
A South Bay property at 2965 La Carlita Street in Hermosa Beach was last week’s second-largest home under contract, according to the Eklund report.
Records filed with the state show the seller is a Hermosa Beach-based LLC tied to James DeSisto and Joseph Tedeschi.
Vista Sotheby’s International Realty’s Jim Leonard has the listing.
The current list price is just under $12 million, following a series of price reductions. It first hit the market in July at nearly $13 million.
The new build has seven beds and eight baths across 7,832 square feet. Each floor of the home, with the exception of the basement, looks out to the ocean. There’s also a pool, wraparound deck, rooftop deck and elevator.
Across Los Angeles County, 28 contracts were signed during the week ended Oct. 13, according to the weekly report from Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes Team. Those contracts equate to $172.3 million in asking dollar volume.
The totals compare to the prior week’s 27 signed contracts for $208 million in volume.
