A Los Angeles institution for gourmet food and fine dining backed by denim kingpins Paul and Maurice Marciano has made its way to the Reuben Brothers’ Century Plaza.

The $2.5 billion, 6-acre Century City project will see a new concept from Wally’s Wine & Spirits added to its tenant roster next summer.

The Wally’s Century City location is 2,500 square feet of indoor space and another 1,500 square feet outdoors.

Wally’s, which started as a Los Angeles liquor store in 1968, has evolved into a purveyor of specialty foods and wines, with locations in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Las Vegas. The Marcianos, founders of Los Angeles denim firm Guess, bought the Wally’s business in 2013.

Century Plaza will be the first Wally’s outpost to open since 2021, when the company threw open the doors to its Resorts World Las Vegas location.

“Century City is emerging as L.A.’s new downtown and Century Plaza stands proudly as its anchor,” David Reuben Jr. of the Reuben Brothers said in a statement.

It’s a sentiment echoing what Reuben said during The Real Deal’s LA Real Estate Forum in September in talking about Century City’s “incredibly strong” office market, paired with the nearby Westfield Century City mall and a walkability factor that supports the building of high-rise residential.

Century Plaza includes the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel & Residences, Park Elm condos and about 100,000 square feet of shops and eateries.

Newmark’s Jay Luchs is handling retail leasing for the property, while Cultivate Hospitality Group’s Peter Peterson and Alexa Skjodt oversee incoming restaurant tenants.

Wally’s is the latest concept to land at the mixed-use project’s retail portion.

In September it was revealed a new health and wellness center, called The Estate, will join Century Plaza. The location will be The Estate’s first-ever wellness center.

The Estate was developed by SBE’s Sam Nazarian, motivational speaker Tony Robbins, singer Marc Anthony and strategist Richard Attias. The business was created in partnership with wellness operator Fountain Life, which Robbins co-founded.

Century Plaza restaurants also slated for opening in 2025 include Milos, KYU and Sushi Noz.
