Call it the ultimate luxury home flip.

Builder and broker Lin He has listed a four-story, 11,600-square-foot oceanfront mansion at 77 Shorecliff Road in Corona del Mar for $49.5 million — or $28.9 million more than he paid two years ago, the Orange County Register reported.

He bought the Newport Beach home in May 2022 for $20.6 million. The house, designed by Brion Jeanette, was built in 2008 in Corona del Mar’s Shore Cliffs.

He, who has revamped houses in high and middle-class markets, then renovated the bluff-side estate on three-quarters of an acre with views from Arch Rock to the Newport channel mouth and out to Catalina Island.

He is co-listing the five-bedroom, 10-bathroom house along with his design-build investment firm, Rellion, based in Fountain Valley. He shares the listing with Rob Giem of Compass.

Renovations include contemporary lighting fixtures, which replaced heavy metal chandeliers, custom window shades instead of drapes, and traditional wood floors that replaced decorative flooring.

They also include upgrades to the audio, visual and security systems to enhance the home without altering its structure.

“People want a more contemporary, clean-line look that still has some texture,” He told the Register. “We didn’t make everything modern and clean because we still wanted a hint of that Old-World feel.

“If you look at the fireplaces, you’ll see they are made from fine materials and (display) great workmanship, which is why we decided to keep them — to create a juxtaposition between the old and new.”

The home has formal living and dining rooms, a kitchen with a breakfast nook, a large family room, a wood-paneled office and a gym. It contains a home theater, wet bar, a four-story elevator and an eight-car garage.

Outside, there’s a rooftop terrace, oceanfront deck with a pool, a barbecue center and a private path to the beach.

He is the consummate home fixer and flipper.

Six years ago, he bought a run-down Joseph Eichler-designed house in Orange for $400,000, then restored it and sold it $1.07 million.

More recently, He built a four-bedroom, 3,300-square-foot custom home in east Costa Mesa, designed by Archimorphic Architects and Morrison Interiors that sold in August for $4.7 million — setting a home sale record for Costa Mesa.
