Canyon Creative Design has leased two side-by-side office buildings with more than 14,000 square feet in Hollywood.
The Studio City-based interior design firm rented the offices at 6165 and 6121 Santa Monica Boulevard, L.A. Business First and the Commercial Observer reported.
Terms of the deal with landlord Cole Commercial, based in Santa Monica, were not disclosed. Broker Jared Swedelson of NAI Capital represented Cole, while broker Phil Missig of Berkshire Hathaway represented Canyon Creative.
The design firm founded in 2021 by Kasandra Rafter will take 7,200 square feet at 6165 Santa Monica, built in 1932 for use as a Hollywood prop house and horse stables.
Canyon Creative will also occupy 7,100 square feet at the two-story building at 6121 Santa Monica, built in 1952 and used to produce talk show “Dr. Phil” for 21 seasons.
The buildings’ vintage makes them unique from other offices in Hollywood because of their original use as warehouses, with features such as high ceilings and bow trusses. Its makeover included large vintage windows and exposed brick.
Creative now operates out of a 4,000-square-foot industrial storefront at 18314 West Oxnard Street, in Tarzana, where it works on high-end residential and commercial projects, with a focus on interior design.
“Our new building in Hollywood is a significant upgrade and reflects Canyon Creative’s growing interior design business,” Michael Rafter, CEO of Canyon Creative, told the Observer in an email. “The space will feature a studio space, e-commerce business operations, and soon-to-be launched studio retail location.”
Cole Commercial has been active across Hollywood, according to the Observer.
In September, the firm inked an 8,000-square-foot lease for New York-based nonprofit Fountain House at 6150 Santa Monica Boulevard. Last week, Cole signed a 9,400-square-foot office lease to the Getty Family at 1715 North Gower Street, according to Swedelson, who also brokered those deals.
