Los Angeles luxury real estate went quiet for the holiday as signed contract activity slowed during Christmas week.
Six homes went into contract equating to asking dollar volume of $29.7 million, according to Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes’ Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles. Five of those deals were for single-family homes, while one came from the condo market. All properties in the roundup moved fast, spending an average of 44 days on the market.
Eklund Gomes’ roundup counts L.A. County homes listed in the MLS at $4 million or more.
A Brentwood four-bed, four-bath home at 810 North Tigertail Road held the top spot among last week’s signed contracts. The house with more than 3,500 square feet is listed at just under $5.5 million.

Property records show the seller is a trust tied to Margaret Riley Carver, with the home going on the market in October for just under $6 million.
The Mid-Century home sits on about a third of an acre. The listing touts the home’s views of the Getty Museum, floor-to-ceiling glass and a mini basketball court.
If the home closes at $5.15 million or more, the seller will be on the hook for paying the City of Los Angeles’ Measure ULA tax. The assessment charges a 4 percent tax on commercial and residential deals starting at $5.15 million and 5.5 percent for those $10.3 million or more.
Elsewhere in L.A. County, a home in La Cañada Flintridge was the second priciest home to go into contract last week, with a listing price just shy of $5 million.

Property records show the seller is a trust tied to Amber Gerhardt, with Zillow showing the home debuted on the market on Dec. 5.
