Elevate Aircraft Seating has signed a deal for a 280,500-square-foot warehouse in Huntington Beach.

The airline seat manufacturer based near Seattle has signed a lease for the two-story office and warehouse at the McDonnell Center Business Park at 5701 Skylab Road, the Orange County Business Journal reported.

Terms of the lease with San Francisco-based Prologis were not disclosed.

Elevate Aircraft, formerly known as Adient Aerospace, plans to operate “a new manufacturing facility to increase its production and distribution capabilities,” according to Chris O’Connor of Savills.

The warehouse, built on 12.3 acres in 2000 near the 405 and 22 freeways, includes 41,200 square feet of offices, 13 miles from the Port of Los Angeles, according to a marketing brochure.

It was formerly occupied by Hybrid Apparel, based in Cypress.

Elevate Aircraft, based in Bothell, will continue its operations at an 80,000-square-foot plant at 5511 Skylab Road, in Huntington Beach.

Demand for industrial property in Orange County fell in the first quarter from late last year, with industrial vacancy rising 0.4 percent to 4.8 percent, according to Kidder Mathews.

“While Orange County remains in the lower half of the nation’s leading industrial markets, lease activity is expected to be lower than the median level amid tenant competition,” Kidder Mathews said in its first-quarter report.

“The vacancy rates have changed in alignment with the completion of various developments.”
