Robert Beyer, chair of Chaparral Investments and minority owner of the Milwaukee Brewers, has slashed the asking price of his Los Angeles mansion nearly two years after it hit the market.
Beyer is now asking $54.9 million for the 3.5-acre Brentwood estate, Mansion Global reported. The property, located at 11740 Crescenda Street, was originally listed for $75 million in October 2023. It was relisted in March 2024 for $69.5 million and dropped to $64.5 million that July, according to Realtor.com. The home was taken off the market in February before reemerging June 9 with the $54.9 million price tag.
The financier bought the property for the land in 2005, the same year he purchased his minority stake in the Milwaukee MLB team. He demolished the 1940s ranch house on the site and erected a Mediterranean-inspired villa in its place, according to The Wall Street Journal. The home spans nearly 20,000 square feet and was made with imported Mallorcan stone.
The manse boasts eight bedrooms in total, including a primary suite, four main bedrooms, a guest suite, a guest room and a staff room. Staff can access the property via a separate entrance.
With a 1,200-bottle wine cellar, double-height dining room and two kitchens — one for personal use and one for catering — the home would be fit for a buyer who loves to entertain. Dining materials can be stored in a specialized storage room for chinaware, silver and glassware. If you’d like to provide your visitors with trinkets to take home, you can package them in a separate gift-wrapping room.
The backyard features an infinity-edge pool, a pool cabana and a poolside pavilion that extends indoors. Olive and sequoia trees, rose gardens and green meadows surround the home.
There’s also a tennis court and an additional sports court for when you want to work up a sweat. And if you’d prefer to stay inside and read a book, the home comes complete with a two-story library.
Beyer and his wife Catherine are offloading the property now that their four children are grown.
“I think a large, happy home with extensive grounds is like a fast car and it deserves to be ‘driven’ often,” he told the Journal when the property was originally put up for sale. “While the house is very livable even for the two of us, much of the time we can’t possibly enjoy the extent of it, especially the spacious grounds.”
The property is listed by Carolwood Estates agents Drew Fenton and Andrew Beyer, who just so happens to be the owner’s son.
