A planned Louis Vuitton outpost in Beverly Hills is inching closer to construction.
The Beverly Hills Planning Commission gave unanimous approval to a three-story LV flagship store, rooftop restaurant and exhibition space, the Beverly Hills Courier reported.
The Frank Gehry-designed development on Rodeo Drive is slated to span a block of South Santa Monica Boulevard between Rodeo and Beverly Drives. Dubbed the Louis Vuitton Rodeo Drive Experiential Flagship, the 105,000-square-foot store will rise a maximum of 60 feet. It will also have subterranean parking, two pedestrian bridges and a pedestrian tunnel.
The LV flagship project consists of two components with entrances on Rodeo and Beverly Drives.
The Rodeo portion spans 45,400 square feet and is for retail use. That part includes more than 6,000 square feet reserved for VIPs. The rooftop of the Rodeo portion will host special events.
The exhibition space, a gift shop, a cafe, a fine dining restaurant and some operational space will take up 54,700 at the Beverly portion. The exhibition space — the first of its kind in the U.S. — will showcase the luxury brand’s 170-year history.
Construction on the complex is expected to kick off in the second half of next year and wrap up in the second quarter of 2029.
Parent company LVMH bought the site at 468 Rodeo Drive from Brooks Brothers in 2018 for $245 million. The four parcels currently consist of four commercial buildings. At one point, LVMH proposed building a 109-room Cheval Blanc hotel, though Beverly Hills voters rejected the proposal in a 2023 special election.
Elsewhere in the neighborhood, Cain International’s One Beverly Hills, a $10 billion luxury retail and hospitality development still in early construction, recently leased retail space to Dolce & Gabbana, Casa Tua and Los Mochis. That project, which also includes renovations to the Beverly Hilton and a new Aman hotel and residences, is expected to be completed in 2027.
