Arhaus has set a new company record with its new location in Old Pasadena.
The upscale home furnishings retailer has opened its largest showroom yet at the historic Penn Oil Building in Old Pasadena, L.A. Business First reported. The 38,600-square-foot store at 35 North De Lacey Avenue is the Ohio-based company’s 12th location in California and its fifth in the Los Angeles area.
The Art Deco-style Penn Oil Building dates back a century. It was built in 1925 for the Penn Oil & Supply Company, and in recent decades, it housed retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue and the now-defunct Forever 21.
Arhaus was founded in 1986 in Cleveland and went public in 2021. The company has more than 100 locations nationwide. In the L.A. area, they include stores at The Grove in L.A., Westfield Topanga in Woodland Hills, Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance and The Oaks in Thousand Oaks. The company announced earlier this year it planned to open at least six new stores and complete up to nine relocations, renovations or expansions company-wide in 2025
“The opening of our Pasadena location marks a major milestone for Arhaus. As our largest showroom to date, it represents our continued commitment to serving clients in Southern California,” CEO John Reed said in a statement.
To mark the opening, Arhaus is joining forces with the Altadena Girls organization to provide the nonprofit with Arhaus furniture for its first-ever dedicated space, which opened in Pasadena earlier this month. The charity was created to give teenage girls who lost their homes and belongings in the Eaton fire in January a sense of belonging.
On top of selling home furnishings, Arhaus will also provide design services from interior designers and design consultants at its Pasadena showroom.
